Guts - The Black Swordsman (Berserker Armor)

My first 3D Render!

Process:

The character and the sword were hard surface modeled and sculpting was performed for the cape as well as a prop on his sword. The new 'cloth brush' in blender was also used to further improve the fluttery look.
All textures were all procedurally generated using nodes (exceptions have been detailed in next section).
A particularly complex node setup was used to generate the material for the character's armor. Edges were given wear rust with the help of geometry node (pointiness).
Trees were added using the sapling tree gen curve addon (inbuilt) and a free to use tree bark texture from polyhaven was applied using box projection (no UV unwrap).
The rocky and irregular terrain was also modeled by utilizing and manipulating the default noise texture.
Fire was added using free to use flame PNGs and setting them to emission after passing through a coloramp node.
In order to generate a smoke effect, I utilized noise textures again and fine tuned it with distortion. This layer was duplicated multiple times in different planes coming towards the camera to create a more volumetric effect in the scene. Film grain was manually added in the compositor to give an overall grunge look and feel to the final render.
